I don’t always eat Korean (the food I mean!) but a true blue Korean restaurant like Tok Su Gong gave me culture shock the first time I dine in there a few years back. With better knowledge of what to order now, I don’t feel as intimidated to walk in the door than the last time.
The first culture shock was the side dishes which I am kinda warm of the idea now. I mean, free flowing side dishes! What is there not to like? Hehehe, I always wanted seconds for the spinach dish!

The steamed egg on stone pot is also one of my favourite side dish, despite the fact that it is tongue scalding hot. Ouch!

This hot beancurd soup is the same as the one I had last time in Dae Jang Gum.

A very well stirred bibimbap. I would’ve wanted to take picture of the nicely arranged veggies and meat, but since the waitress offerred to stir them, I might as well, yeah? They can do it better than me, that’s for sure!

A nice dessert of cut fruits and Korean tea. Aside from the sum of the main course plus tax, everything else is free! Pretty reasonable for all the refills of side dishes and teas that I asked for.

This Ho G chicken rice stall in Batu Berendam is situated along the road heading towards pasar borong, near the traffic light. First time I ate here was the time Anwar gave his ceramah in pasar borong, so the whole street was literally jam packed. I wanted to go to the ceramah as well, but it was just so jammed!

This place is kinda new, and they opens until late at night.

Chilli sauce, the soul of chicken rice. Theirs was alright. Nothing spectacular that will evoke fireworks.

White cut chicken, barbecued pork and roasted pork. Yummy!

Comes with sauce, vegetables soup and two rice at about RM14 I guess? Can’t quite remember but it is cheaper than Heng Kee for sure.

Nadeje’s mille crepe was dad favourite. Note the usage of “WAS”. We don’t dig them now, for obvious reasons such as substandard food and overpriced everything.

Be prepared to fork out for ambiance and comfy seats. The food are just not worth mentioning.

Umbai, the quaint fishing village serving Malay style fresh seafood next to the sea. Around 25 minutes drive from Malacca town, this place is known for their “medan ikan bakar”, a group of different stalls serving grilled fish.

This place opens after 5.30pm, so don’t come too early or you will have to wait for them to set up their stalls.

We chose this stall, partly because of the view, and mostly because of the food, which by far seems to attract the most customers.

The modus operandi is quite simple- You pick your seafood and the way you want them to be cooked in.

They cook and serve you. Seafood aside, stir fried vegetables are also available.

J and I went there for one purpose. Sotong goreng tepung! Between the both of us, we digested 1000g of sotongs. So, that means 500g all for myself. OMG, artery clogging, cholesterol hijacking goodness.

They serve their dishes along with nasi lemak. You are gonna love them despite the artery clogging goodness.

Their dipping sauce was simply good for the seafood, especially then cincaluk and chilli sauce.
We saw a rainbow on the way back! Nice, isn’t it?
