McDonald’s HotCakes!

Friday, April 4th, 2008 |

It has been so long since I’ve seen McD’s hotcakes available in Malaysia, and KL folks are always the lucky ones to get them first. After such a long wait, its finally in Malacca! Okay, it was available since some time back, but I just can’t wake up for breakfast to savour them. Nonetheless, OMG there is hotcakes in McDonald’s Malacca but be prepared to drive to Dataran Pahlawan’s McD if you wanna sink your teeth into these soft, fluffy pancakes!

Dark Soy Sauce Noodles and Braised Chicken Feet

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 |

konlomee

Dark soy sauce yellow noodles and rat noodles. Er, its a direct translation of “kon lo lou shue fan mien”, noodles with a generous amount of dark soy sauce, with curry oil on top. My favourite breakfast in Teluk Intan! I always lament that noodles in Melaka lack that healthy dark colour, and curry oil seems to be nonexistent.

chicken feet

Braised chicken feet with dark so sauce, again. Mum’s dish, I only helped myself with the gravy because I don’t know how to eat this thing.

Breakfast at LCCT and The End of Chinese New Year Festivities

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008 |

salmon scramble
My salmon scramble breakfast set in Coffee Bean LCCT, scrambled eggs topped with salmon flakes.

Dear readers,

How was your Chinese New Year? For those of you who celebrates Chinese New Year, no matter where you hail from, a heartwarming Happy Chinese New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai to you, and for those who don’t I urge that you immerse yourself in the mood of festivities and have fun! You should really sample all the foodstuffs during Chinese New Year that are normally not available during the non festive period.Amidst the festivities, juggling between work, busying myself in the kitchen and the slowness of dial up internet access, postings on this food blog of mine slowed down tremendously, but now that everything slowly returned to normal, I hope I could find time to update this blog regularly, as I really do have a lot of recipes worth keeping and trying for the next Chinese New Year.

As usual, I sent my sister to LCCT to board her plane to Kuching, and to beat the traffic, we started from home at an ungodly hour. A cuppa coffee is very welcoming when we reached LCCT, and breakfast was Godsend. Sis had her chicken chipotle sandwich in panini. Absolutely filling and yummy too!

Its a pity that I don’t have the time to check out the newly opened LCCT food court, since it was not noticeable to us until I left the place. Some other time maybe. At least there are more choices other than McDonald’s, Asian Kitchen and Coffee Bean for the ever growing crowd of travelers in LCCT.

Stay tuned for more foodie posts!

Bangers ‘n Mash @ London Cafe

London Cafe Menu

To tell the truth, when you chance upon some place new and dangerously empty, you will have mixed feelings about whether to eat there or not. That was what happened to me when I stopped at Pacific Batu Pahat for a quick bite before driving to ZenXin for the dragonfruit.

bangers 'n mash

Surprisingly, my worries were actually unfounded, given that their Bangers ‘n’ Mash which consist of beef sausages, bacons and mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy is fork lickin’ good.

nice burgers

The menu is very promising. I am already eying the roasted chicken pasta and scampi ‘n’ chips sets. Sigh!!! I wished that I had walked in with an empty stomach. Some other time maybe.

interior seating

Its clean and its tasty. I like! The only downside is that it is not a franchise, at least not yet, from the look of it.
