han woo ri

Korean food is one of my favourite comfort food. Having moved up to USJ. I have yet to discover which Korean restaurants in the neighbourhood serves Korean food to my liking, so I just randomly pick one and hope for the best. This is my first visit to Han Woo Ri, USJ Taipan.

Their side dishes or banchan, is on the dainty side, but they automatically refilled it when we finished a particular banchan.

pork

Since there’s only three of us, I ordered the standard Korean pork belly slice and marinated pork BBQ, and a dolsot bibimbap.

The service is above average, maybe because it was weekdays. Nonetheless, the servers are attentive and we give thumbs up for the effort of changing 3 BBQ grill plates for the 2 pork dishes we ordered, so that there’s no conflict of taste between the dishes. They even dish up the meat to avoid overcooking instead of just leaving it to char on the hotplate. I like that.

fresh pork belly

This is BBQ fresh pork belly, cooked and cut into slices.

Marinated pork. This taste a lot like satay, really.

As usual, all meals include complimentary slices of watermelon and sweet tea, and Han Woo Ri serves barley. No photos though. The bill comes to about RM80.00. Taste wise, this place is worth returning to.

having tried out a few korean restaurants around subang/usj/sunway, my favourite is still Daorae @ Taipan (just behind True Fitness). Good service, and the boss is always out chatting and serving the customers, and giving out complimentary dishes.

      check it out!

I’ve tried Daorae @ Taipan, and I agree that the boss was friendly and service was good. My only gripe is that the place was always jam packed and our food came really slow. I will most likely return when its not peak hours.

      Thanks for the suggestion! :)

I agreed with lydia that Daorae service is good and not only that the food is also good . I think that is why they are always pack. I did went to Han Woo Ri but is not as pack as Daorae and some time is empty. But above all, the service at Han Woo Ri Is bad.

i agree with daphne. Ive had food from both restaurants and firstly the service at daore is good coz of the boss there serving with complimentaries but hanwoori one point service could be bad but i think thats coz of weekends or some new workers are still training. haha but when i went there they still tried and gave much attention and services werent so bad, and moreover i think the TASTE of the food hanwoori is better and one more thing ventilation is good. so i think as theres a gloomy day and a bright day i think its not bad to give a chance too. Try ampang hanwoori foods awesome!
