Jonker Street Lao Qian Ice Cafe

Continuing my Jonker Street walk-walk-eat-eat day, we walk all the way towards the end of the street to this newly opened local food novelty shop, San Shu Gong. This Lao Qian Ice Cafe is situated inside the San Shu Gong building.

Nice, isn’t it?

We were here for the durian cendols, despite the filling meal in Nancy’s Kitchen. The durian packaging, kinda like made the cendol look tastier.

Upon opening the cover, I was surprised that it was all snowy white. I dug deeper and the cendols, red beans and durian flavoured cubes appeared. Phew!

We also ordered a coffee, which tasted not bad. They froze an inch of ice at the bottom of the mason jar instead of using ice cubes.

This is some amoy pandan flavoured fish shaped kueh which they made, assembly style, outside the cafe. The whole machinery looks neat! Auto mix and bake, and voila! Here comes the fish!

The fish is filled like taiyaki, with pandan flavoured paste.

Yeah, they sell nicely packaged local food products too! This place is quite crowded with tourists most of the time.
