Lychee Flavoured Jolly Shandy

lychee shandy

The creator of everyone’s well loved Jolly Shandy and Anglia Shandy added another new flavour into the traditional beer and lemonade concoction, and thus, Lychee Jolly Shandy is born. Well at least I saw them selling for the first time this Chinese New Year, and having been a Shandy fan, I must try them out.

It wasn’t an easy feat to buy a lone can of Lychee Jolly Shandy seeing that consumers prefer to buy canned drinks in bulk during the festive seasons, but the trusty Tesco do sold them in loose so I got myself a can, along with a siew pao from Esquire Kitchen for dinner.

The question is, how does it taste?

Well, to tell the truth I thought the drink would be tinted in red, what with the red coloured can that looks festive. Taste wise, it goes down just like how Jolly Shandy should, with a hint of lychee that exist only during sipping time and miraculously disappeared when the drink hits the tongue. Not too bad, but the combination is a bit weird the first time round, if not refreshing. Worth a try.
