Waxed Sausage Rice

Written on May 15, 2007 – 1:29 am | by Jo |

Sometimes when I feel lazy, I just open the fridge and see what I have inside, take them out, defrost and throw them all into the rice cooker.

Ingredients:

a cup of rice
a pair of waxed sausages
dark soy sauce
light soy sauce
oyster sauce
chicken stock

And this is how waxed sausage rice was cooked. I just washed a cup of rice, chop up two waxed sausages and dump them into the rice cooker. Then I added a teaspoon of dark soy sauce and a tablespoon of light soy sauce, a dash of oyster sauce and some chicken stock (optional!) into the rice, stir a bit and cover the pot.

I went to bathe, and when I am done showering, the rice is almost cooked! I chopped up some spring onions to garnish the rice.

Easy, isn’t it? I am sure adding gui hua waxed meat and waxed ducks will make the rice taste even better.

Next time round I should try making waxed meat clay pot rice.
