La La Chong Seafood Restaurant

It has been some time since I’ve eaten a proper meal. I miss proper meals. Wish I could have some proper meal right now. Speaking of proper meals I what I missed the most right now would be La La Chong’s salted egg prawn fritters. They are heavenly.

prawn fritters

Salted egg yolk prawn fritters. It was just so, so good. Crunchy, with a hint saltiness and aroma of salted egg yolk.

clams

This is their signature dish, lala or clams in superior soup. Clams cook in soup stock with some bird eyes chilies and shredded ginger. Very refreshing, although the baby crabs were quite a nuisance.

small crab

This is what I mean by the baby crabs. Very tough. I don’t think its edible, albeit my cousin tried to chomp down one.

squid fritters

Another dish of Thai styled squid fritters. Basically a salad of onions, cucumber and pineapple with sourish, spicy sauce served with squid fritters.Nice to snack on, but not exactly a rice accompaniment dish, I would say.

baby french bean

A vegetable dish to go with the white rice, baby french beans with dried prawns. Very nicely done. Baby french bean differs from french beans in a way that it is easier to eat the young shoots since it is less fibrous, and they taste better too. Poor daddy doesn’t know why baby french beans are called baby french beans. He doesn’t go to the market. Heh.

label

Just in case I need a detailed address, here is it. Along with the signature lala shells.

These pictures were taken during my previous visit. The place was near my aunt’s, but its a pity she couldn’t join us. Next time, eh?
