2007 Reunion Dinner
Yo! It has been quite awhile since I am updating here, since its Chinese New Year and all that which means I will be more busy eating instead.
This year reunion dinner was a bit different, because we, the Sams were all having reunion in restaurant, mainly due to the fact that my paternal grandmother can’t cook anymore. For the first time in so many years, we had our dinner in Nagaria, Pekan Baru, Teluk Intan (Sheesh, my hometown la). All the dishes were pre-ordered, and I shudder to think how long we would have to wait if we were walk ins.
First off, lou sang to kick start the dinner!

The food was good, in fact better than I expected. Maybe because the restaurant is too new. There were starters of cold platter and shark fin’s soup appetizer, but everyone were too hungry and we didn’t get to snap any pictures.

Clock wise from top left: Stewed pig trotters, gui lin fish, prawns and stuffed oysters. The stewed pig trotters with oyster (hou see) and seaweed (fatt choi) is my favourite dish, followed by the fish. The stuffed oyster was nice too, but I don’t really fancy eating whole oysters. The prawn dish was good too. I forgot what’s the exact name of the dish, but the gravy is a bit sweetish and flavourful.

Lap mei rice, auspiciously named huang jin man man (Full of Gold), a must eat if wanna prosper.

The dessert, glutinous rice balls with peanut paste fillings and coated with crushed peanuts. This is heavenly, after all the rich food. All the dishes were auspiciously named, though its a pity I can’t remember much of it. All I could say is, this dinner was great.
